Richard
Eisenbeiss
Inducted into the Academy in 1984
Richard was born 1927 in Heidelberg, Germany. He studied law in
Basel, Switzerland, and Heidelberg. As a student Richard worked
for almost three years at the University of Heidelberg as executive
secretary of the Foreign Department. After a stint at the courts
of law Richard went to the US to work in NYC in the brewery supply
business.
After his return to Germany in 1958, he took over as managing director
of Kissel & Wolf GmbH, then a small manufacturer of adhesives
and similar chemical-technical products. The company soon branched
out and acquired a producer of screen lacquers for the textile printing
Industry. During the following years the company began supplying
the developing screen printing industry and eventually became one
of the leading suppliers, known for its printable adhesives and
light sensitive screen emulsions. The company grew into a group
and now sells all over the world and has subsidiaries and related
companies in Australia, India, Singapore and in the US. In 1999,
the prestigious Ulano Corporation of Brooklyn, NY, was acquired.
Richard is Chairman of Soral AG, Basel, and he is managing director
of Albert Rose Chemicals, Berne, Switzerland. He serves on the Board
of Kiwo Inc., Houston, TX, Kissel & Wolf Australia Pty.Ltd.,
Kiwo Holdings Inc. of Delaware, Albert Rose Chemicals (India) Pvt.Ltd.,
Ahmedabad and Mumbei, Indochem Pty.Ltd. of Singapore and Saxon Screens
GmbH of Frankenberg, Saxony, Germany. He is a member of the Academy
of Screen Printing Technology, Fairfax, VA, USA, and served as its
Chairman 2001 and 2002.
Richard lives in Berne, Switzerland and Fayence, France.
He was married to Annabelle Fischer of New York who died 1991. They
have two sons, , R. David, who is working as Richard's successor
in the producing companies, and Philip W., formerly a banking executive
and lately Executive Director of an executive search firm in Hong
Kong.
