Daniel
Gilsdorf
Inducted into the Academy in 2002
With a B.S. in Industrial Technology (Graphic Arts Management concentration)
from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1992, Dan began his screen
printing career as Production Operator at Kings Graphics, Inc. (Mendota
Heights, MN). Following a Laboratory Technician internship at Tetko,
Inc. (Briarcliff Manor, NY), he was recruited by Minnesota Mining
and Manufacturing (3M)/Imation.
In 1992, Dan worked as an Artwork Specialist in the company's Optical
Recording Division, CD Replication Department (Menomonie, WI); between
1993-1995, he served as Graphic Communication Analyst in 3M's Optical
Recording Division, Process Engineering Department (Menomonie, WI);
from 1995-1997, he became Advanced Printing Technologist in the
Optical Recording Division, Optical Technology Center (Vadnais Heights,
MN); and in 1997, he worked as Advanced Printing Technologist in
the company's Printing and Publishing Division, Matchprint Laser
Department (St. Paul, MN).
Also in 1997, he was an adjunct Screen Printing Instructor at the
University of Wisconsin-Stout (Menomonie, WI).
Since 1997, Dan has been the Screen Printing Laboratory Manager
at Sefar America, Inc./Tetko, Inc. (Burnsville, MN). After relocating
the laboratory from New York to Minnesota. He has developed and
implemented a training program, managed the development of mesh
and adhesive products, provided technical support to customers,
and undertaken a series of marketing initiatives.
