Guy Massé
Inducted into the Academy in 2008
After being a graduate of the University of Western Brittany (at Brest, France) in 1986, as a doctor of chemistry, and after his military obligations (as a chemist working on antidotes against phosphorus-based toxic gas), Guy entered in the inks and varnishes world in 1988.
R&D UV Manager at BRANCHER (french offset inks manufacturer) from 1988 to 1996, he was specialized in UV offset, dry offset, waterless offset, letterpress and flexo printing inks.
In 1996, he joined the company ENCRES DUBUIT to move around the screen printed process. R&D Manager, he is in charge of the formulation and development of new products in different areas : optical discs (CD, DVD, BD, CD-R, DVDR, BD-R, CDRW, DVDRW, BD-RE…), label market (flat bed and rotary screen, products for combi presses…), direct printing on objects (PE, PP, PET, glass…), packaging market, automotive dials and membrane switches, card market, products with special effects or functionalities. He is also in charge of the technological survey (for example, the digital printing processes, the electronic inks (electrographic displays, membrane switches, products for photovoltaic cells, RFID…)
He wrote some articles on labels, DVD and glass printing and made some conferences worldwide (on label market and optical disc printing).
