Mike Ukena
Inducted into the Academy in 2001

Mike, with Union Ink Co., is currently responsible for sales and customer training In Florida, the western United States, Caribbean and Central America. Working from St. Petersburg, FL, he also serves as a consultant to small and mid sized screen printing companies on issues such as business management, technical training and support, plant auditing, staff training, marketing and sales.

Since 1987, Mike has presented more than 100 technical screen printing seminars, and 30 screen printing business management seminars to industry members. He has published more than 50 technical articles and contributed approximately 40 technical and business articles for SGIA International's monthly membership newspaper. As SGIA's Technical Resource Associate, he was responsible for editing, reformatting and reissuing the Association's definitive Technical Guidebook in both hard copy and CD-ROM formats. Working at Association headquarters in Fairfax, VA from 1994-1997, he also served as Director for Education, instituting regional workshops, in plant seminars and a plant audit program. Mike expanded the core workshop program offered by SGIA, and its research and education affiliate, the Screen Printing Technical Foundation, to incorporate more current technologies. A frequent speaker at industry events, he has presented as least two seminars at every SGIA convention since 1994.
