2. Is there a charge to attend the exposition?
Answer: Maybe.
If registering online by July 15, registration to walk the show floor will be
at no charge. After July 15 until August 31, registration is $30.
After August 31 or if registering at the convention site, the fee is $35. Price
covers attendance for all four show days – not just one day.
If attendees go to the special SGIA Eye Opener, September 27, 28 or 29, they
will get a voucher for $30 to be exchanged for a ticket to a session of their
choice or membership services.
3. Can I register for events once I arrive at Convention
Center?
Answer: Yes. There are two different prices, however -- advance and on-site.
See the attached registration form.
4. I only have one registration form and there are three people attending from
my company. Will you send me additional forms?
Answer: Please use a copier to make copies of the one form you have. Do
Not register
more than one person on each form.
Suggest registering via the Internet. Will get immediate confirmation, plus the
first 3,000 online registrants will be rewarded with a great tote bag full of
goodies. Registration materials (badge and tickets) will be mailed if registered
by August 31 for registrants located in the United States.
5. Please fax or FedEx me information on your show.
Answer: [If they want the full brochure]
When pricing our events, we did not include this service. We can either send
the information to you first-class mail
today or Federal Express it to you collect or you may access the information
through the Internet – SGIA.org.
6. Address of Convention Center – Las Vegas Convention Center, 3150 Paradise
Road, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89109-9096 USA. For directions, go to www.mapquest.com
7. Information regarding hotel rooms. If this is all registrant says to you – suggest
it can be found on our Web site (sgia.org/sgia06) – shown in the online
menu as Housing Online and Housing Form. Reservations can be made online. If
the questions are more specific, the following may be helpful in answering him.
We
have reserved rooms at the 8 hotels shown on our housing form. The rates
and addresses for these hotels are shown on the attached housing
form. Attendees
should not call the hotels direct because they will need to go through Travel
Planners to get our discounted rates. When the block of rooms we have reserved
at each hotel has been filled, all members of the staff will be advised, so
you can inform the person asking for information.
Complimentary bus transportation will not be provided.
Travel Planners is the private housing bureau we are using. The pluses of using
a private system are: 1) They keep a waiting list, which means the registrant
may get his first choice later down the road and 2) Housing personnel will be
on site at the Convention Center to take care of any problems that occur.
Reservations should be made online (sgia.org), mailed, phoned, faxed or e-mailed
to the Housing Bureau immediately. It is suggested that registrants telephoneor use e-mail to make their reservations. A few years ago we had "lost faxes" which
resulted in registrants not getting their first choice. The hotels will not be
sending acknowledgments – only the Housing Bureau. If registrant has not
received confirmation for his room within 5 days after making the reservation
or simply wants to check on the reservation, please advise the person to call
Travel Planners Inc. at 866.271.7442 (USA & Canada only).
Frequent questions are "where are most people staying" or "what
is the headquarters hotel." The headquarters hotel is the Las Vegas Hilton.
Our Thursday Night Dinner Party will also be held there.
Another question is "where is staff staying" or "where is Mike
Robertson staying?" Staff will be staying at all hote ls. Mike
Robertson
will be staying at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Another question is "Where is the Board Meeting or where is the Executive
Committee Meeting?" The SGIA Executive Committee will meet on Sunday, September
24 in the Board Room, Lobby Level of the Las Vegas Hilton at 5:00 pm. The Board
Meeting will be at the Hilton in Ballroom D, Lobby Level on Monday September
25 at 5:00 pm.
If registrant wants to make a change or cancel his reservation, he should submit
the change in writing to the Housing Bureau. All Cancellations should
be made through Travel Planners within 3 business days of arrival. After this
time, you
should contact the hotel directly. Many hotels are now imposing fees for early
departures. This policy is at the discretion of the individual hotel and the
amount of the fee varies by hotel.
If registrant finds an error on his hotel acknowledgment, he can have it corrected
by calling 866.271.7442 (USA & Canada only).
