Going Green and Reinventing Yourself
 In the Future Forum, “Corporate Sustainability: Opportunity and Challenge,” two members, Brian Hart, Ivey Imaging and Eric Henry, TS Designs, were invited to speak with Marci Kinter, SGIA’s Vice President of Government and Business Information and Shell, about their company’s efforts to become sustainable. Both noted sustainability is becoming a major consideration for the industry.
“It’s obvious that [the green movement] is where things are going,” said Tim Burman, Prism Solutions (Roseville, Minnesota). “I came here to get up-to-date on where the industry is headed and I’ve got a good idea.”
Heather Lacroix, Aconda Paper (Spain), agreed. “I think this is just the beginning. There’s a lot more to [the green movement].”
Kinter also discussed SGIA’s new Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) Partnership and its goals. The SGP Partnership will encourage and promote worldwide participation to reduce environmental impact and increase social responsibility with the creation of clear, concise criteria to certify green or sustainable printers.
“There is plenty that can be done, and we hope you look to SGIA to help you do it.” Shell said.
