SGIA’s Printed Electronics and Membrane Switch Council is a pivotal group for promoting information access, educational opportunities and industry insight to suppliers of raw materials, service providers, printers and OEM’s in the fast growing printed electronics and membrane switch industry. Since 1993, SGIA has brought Membrane Switch industry leaders together to explore the latest printing and imaging technologies, production methods and technical issues surrounding this highly specialized market. The Council also prepares the educational programs for the annual SGIA Printed Electronics & Membrane Switch Symposium (formerly the SGIA Membrane Switch Symposium).
Beginning after the 2008 Membrane Switch Symposium, the technical base of this group began to expand to reflect changes in the types of work produced by SGIA member printers. With the help of the SGIA Membrane Switch council, the symposium now encompasses a wider array of screen printed and digitally imaged printed electronics ranging from flexible medical electronics, RFID, OLED and LED, flexible displays, photovoltaic and flexible energy applications, membrane switches and the vast range of adhesives, substrates, inks, equipment and techniques which support them. This enhanced direction sparked a name change for both Council and Symposium in 2009 to the Printed Electronics and Membrane Switch Council and the Printed Electronics and Membrane Switch Symposium. This Symposium is the premier event for the membrane switch industry and is quickly become an asset for all forms of screen and digitally printed electronics.
Industry leaders, innovators and production experts meet at this symposium to present a wide variety of technical educational sessions about printed electronics and membrane switches. Areas of discussion are typically marketing and industry trends, new technologies, production methods and practices, finishing operations and much more. In addition you can meet with distributors and manufacturers of equipment, components, substrates, inks, adhesives and testing equipment to discuss applications for your shop.
Always searching for companies and individuals to participate in Association activities, the Council welcomes you to look around and join the group.
