The upcoming SPIRE program will be a fantastic learning experience for today’s business leaders. Working with the SPIRE Education Committee, we’ve structured a program that includes an in-depth C-level workshop about leading change management and focusing company efforts to build business opportunities, as well as insights in identifying high-value opportunities, addressing critical retail challenges, and dramatically transforming your company’s relevance in the process.
Manage Successful Change
Scott Franklin of Life Cycle Institute, a well-known speaker and educator on Prosci methodology, will present “Prosci’s Executive Sponsor Workshop.” Prosci is the recognized leader in change management research and the world's largest provider of change management products and training.

"SPIRE provides a unique opportunity to discuss with others in specialty graphics the conditions and challenges we face in the market. The atmosphere of networking and sharing of ideas, the educational programs, and the interaction with vendors are without the overriding sense of competition or salesmanship you might assume takes place. It is truly a remarkable opportunity to share with and to learn from the leaders in our field."

Combat “Commodity Hell” in the Retail Sector
SGIA is very pleased to also have contracted newmarketbuilders as SGIA’s Retail Sector Expert. Our focus in this partnership is to help SGIA members improve their position in the retail supply chain and to minimize commoditization of services and products. Many of you had the chance to meet Carol Spieckerman, President and CEO newmarketbuilders, during the SPIRE reception at the 2010 SGIA Expo. SPIRE members will be the key beneficiaries of this effort as Carol and her team uses their resources and skills to improve our understanding of the retail sector and brand management.
In her presentation, “Moving Up the Value Chain” learn about:
- How the relationships between suppliers, retailers, and third party providers have been fundamentally altered — and how to take full advantage
- What your company can do to combat “commodity hell” at the retail level
- What private band means to your business (and what it doesn’t)
- How to differentiate your company’s strategies — on both sides of the retail “table”
More information about Moving Up the Value Chain Workshop
We’ll also benefit from the insights of our retailer guest, Suzanna Eversole, Manager, Print Production – REI, as well as the return of the popular SPIRE member updates. We’ll hear from two SPIRE members on the activities at the company and their view of the future.

Continue to Maximize Your Position in the Retail Sector at the May Conference
The SPIRE meeting is just the beginning
Keeping with the goals of SPIRE, Carol Spieckerman’s presentation will be strategic — focusing on management’s approach to the retail sector.
In May of 2011, SGIA will present a Business Development Conference also focused on maximizing opportunities in support of the retail sector, however, the Conference will be approximately 30 percent strategic and 70 percent tactical. It will be a great follow up for SPIRE members and well-suited to key managers from SPIRE companies. Mark your calendars to attend.
