The Future is What You Make It
I don’t know about you, but I’ve heard plenty about the economy and challenges in today’s marketplace, and I’m ready to give it a break. I prefer to focus on some of the real benefits available to the SGIA community as graphic imagers and suppliers prepare for future opportunities.
Emerging Technology Delivers the New
I can’t say enough about the role emerging technology plays in helping the SGIA community deliver new and exciting value to their customers.
Equipment manufacturers have continued to push the limits of digital technology. They’ve broken through the “production barrier.” In a short amount of time they’ve advanced the technology so that it not only meets short-run imaging needs, but it also meets the needs of SGIA’s high-production graphic producers.
It’s just incredible when you stop and think about how far the technology has come in just a few years — and the timing couldn’t be better. Emerging technologies are helping graphics producers improve their competitive position when they need it most.
Retailers Get the Point (Point-of-Sale, That Is)
The retail industry is driving much of the graphic production realized by the SGIA community. Retailers are always looking for the best way to generate sales, and today, retailers are investing in point-of-sale advertising. They know that in today’s fast-paced world consumers are making purchase decisions closer to the product. This strengthens the value of point-of-purchase advertising compared to other forms of advertising, such as TV or periodicals. And this is great news for the SGIA community!
Is that China on the Phone? Tell Them We Need it Tomorrow…
The consumer marketplace is changing faster than ever. After chasing low-cost graphics production around the globe, customers are now seeing the value of a working with graphic imagers who are close to home and can deliver goods quickly and accurately. The catch phrase “think globally, act locally” is really coming into play in our industry.
Print buyers need partners who can help them respond to a changing marketplace and take advantage of opportunity. The fact that this local approach reduces inventory, reduces waste and maximizes efficiency, doesn’t hurt either.
The 2010 SGIA Expo Will Change the Way You Think
The manufacturers and distributors in the community are committed to SGIA. They value the relationships and cooperative interaction the community provides. The SGIA Expo is their best marketplace, and in turn, the Expo is the best place for graphics imagers to see the future. The SGIA community works cohesively all year long — but it’s only once a year that it comes together for a convergence of innovative ideas, education and market development. Make a positive commitment to your future: Take full advantage of the SGIA Expo experience. |
