SGIA’s comprehensive, new 4-Step Sustainability Action Plan is made up of four steps: Plan, Do, Check, Act. These steps have been designed by SGIA’s sustainability experts to provide members with everything they need to start becoming sustainable, at a fraction of the cost of a consultant.

Each step includes links to SGIA’s member-exclusive resources — such as environmental checklists and energy audit worksheets — to provide an unparalleled, straight-forward and effective way for specialty imaging companies to implement sustainable initiatives into their corporate culture. Upon completion of the program, participants will:

Be compliant in environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations
Have met many of the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership certification requirements (should you choose to become certified)
Receive SGIA’s coveted Sustainability Recognition Award

Your first step, Plan, is the perfect way to start your sustainability journey.

It’s Time To Take Sustainable Action.

 Step 1: Plan

Building a SMS might sound like an overwhelming task, but it need not be. Since time and other resources are limited in any organization, it is important that you use resources wisely. One way to do this is by preparing and following a simple, effective plan.

 Step 2: Do

This stage begins the step-by-step action plan of developing and implementing the elements of a SMS. It describes a logical sequence or "roadmap" for planning and implementing SMS elements and explains how this sequence can be important in building an effective SMS.

 Step 3: Check

This stage continues the step-by-step action plan for developing and implementing the elements of a SMS. At this point, you should have sufficient SMS processes in place to begin to check your SMS for accuracy and outstanding issues.

 Step 4: Act

Continuous improvement is the cornerstone of any sustainability program. At this point, you should have identified problems with your SMS and should act to resolve these issues.
