 SGIA Product of the Year 2011
The Product of the Year competition recognizes the latest equipment and supplies currently on the market that are advancing the specialty imaging industry. Winners represent the best-judged consumables and best judged Test Print Shootout winners for the entrants of the competition.
Only SGIA member exhibitors can enter the outstanding products that benefited the industry in 2011. Each product will be judged based on its perceived value to the digital imaging community by a select group of experts. Products submitted must be currently available in the market for 2011.
The Product of the Year Award will be presented in each of five categories:
1. Media for digital inkjet (seven sub-categories)
- Paper Based — bond, photo, synthetic, etc.
- Vinyl — banner, mesh, non-woven, textured, etc.
- Vinyl — fleet and pressure sensitive
- Non-PVC — Non PVC based, includes non-woven, eco-responsible & plant based.
- Film — static cling, white, clear, specialty, etc.
- Textile — natural and synthetic woven
- Rigid — paper, plastic, metal, etc.
2. Inks — Inks for large or grand format, can be OEM or third-party solutions.
3. Finishing (three sub-categories)
- Display Exhibit Hardware — Framing systems, display systems and hardware, structures, etc.
- Laminates, Adhesives, and Films
- Equipment — Laminators, routers, cutters, saws, seaming equipment, grommeting, sewing, etc.
4. Output Device Category-Test Print Shoot Out
Entries in the Output Device Category may only be submitted by SGIA Supplier Member companies that manufacture output devices. Open to any inkjet output device currently available for sale during the competition, entrants will be required to print and submit a test image created by the Association. The image is designed to make output devices run through their paces by printing a number of challenging images and test patterns.
