Q: Please give us your definition of an industrial imager. What differentiates the industrial imager from other imagers?

A:  You know, the question sounds simple, but it took a two-plus-hour meeting of several industry leaders in industrial imaging to come up with a definition that made succinct common sense, while still differentiating it from other types of imaging. 

We defined industrial imaging as the use of printing processes, within a manufacturing process, as an essential step toward completing and/or delivering a final product. Printing is not the primary business of most industrial imaging companies, but instead contained within broader manufacturing processes.
