SGIA Launches Bold Imaging Initiative for New Orleans
Large-Format Graphics Revitalize Canal Street
While New Orleans is in the midst of reconstruction, SGIA has set in motion a bold plan to give the city’s major road a fantastic facelift.
The SGIA Canal Street Initiative will create and install approximately 80 large graphic panels — measuring on average 1.2 meters by 2.4 meters (4 feet by 8 feet) — that cover boarded storefronts on Canal Street by November. The graphic panels feature the essence of New Orleans: Its food, music, architecture and culture.
These panels will cover storefront walls and windows on Canal Street from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center to the French Quarter.
SGIA and more than 20 of our member companies and affiliates have made the entirely volunteer-based effort possible. Contact SGIA to learn more about the initiative and how large-format graphics are playing a greater role in building construction projects.
“SGIA is proud to help enhance New Orleans’s urban landscape as the city rebuilds to its former glory.” — Michael Robertson, SGIA President and CEO
