Fairfax, Virginia — The crème de la crème, the top of the heap, the best of the best — however you say it, each year, the SGIA Golden Image and DPI André Schellenberg Awards spotlight the best screen printing and digital imaging work in the world. And now, it's time once again for SGIA members to stand up and be noticed: Deadlines are fast approaching.
High Praise, High Profile With samples displayed on site at SGIA '05, and judged by teams of their peers, winning printers and their work will receive industry-wide attention and international recognition, says Michael Robertson, SGIA President/CEO.
"The Schellenberg and Golden Image competitions give members a chance to see each other's work, to recognize each other's accomplishments and to hear applause for their own. They're one way we foster growth in our specialty imaging community."
SGIA will present four special honors at the Friday Night Dinner Party (September 30), further boosting the winners' profiles and reputations: The Academy of Screen Printing Technology's Best in Show Awards for graphics and textiles, chosen from the Golden Image entries; and the DPI "Best in Show" and "Best in Digital Creativity" awards, chosen from Schellenberg entries.
Critical Deadlines Ahead Both competitions are open only to SGIA/DPI members. The first entry is free, an SGIA member benefit. There's a $20 fee for each subsequent entry. Download entry forms at the SGIA '05 Web site on SGIA.org:
- US and Canadian SGIA Printer Members must ensure their Golden Image entry forms and fees reach SGIA no later than August 22, 2005 (August 10 for all other countries).
- The Schellenberg competition is open to current DPI members (via membership in SGIA), and entry forms and fees are due August 26, 2005.
All Golden Image and Schellenberg entry samples must be channeled through the SGIA depository in New Orleans. Upon submission of entry form and fees, member companies will receive instructions and materials to identify, ship and retrieve entries.
SGIA — Supporting the Leaders of the Digital & Screen Printing Community "Specialty imaging" comprises digital imaging, screen printing and the many other imaging technologies SGIA members use, including those they'll tap in the future. These are the imaging processes and technologies employed to create new products and to enhance existing products including point-of-purchase displays, signs, advertisements, garments, containers, and vehicles. To make the most of your specialty imaging business, take full advantage of the information on SGIA.org, and experience the specialty graphic imaging industry first-hand at SGIA'05 (September 28–October 1, New Orleans, Louisiana).
