Fairfax, Virginia -- Hundreds of the major players in the membrane switch industry recently flocked to the Philadelphia area for high-energy networking, technical discussions and market updates at the annual SGIA Membrane Switch Symposium (June 19–20). http://www.sgia.org/events/membrane_switch/symposium.cfm

"There was a good industry buzz going the entire time," says Michele Liston, SGIA's Director for Conventions and Conferences. "This symposium is the only event that represents this close-knit, and powerful, industry niche."

The membrane switch community spent two days learning the latest industry issues and making business contacts at the symposium, which featured a day-long golf outing, tour of MacDermid Autotype's new plant, educational presentations and continuous networking opportunities.

"It was excellent," said first-time attendee Steve Davis, Tapecon Inc. (Buffalo, New York). "I learned a lot, especially about supplier relationships and technical trends, and thought the networking was great."

Exhibitors also were pleased with the turnout and resulting customer interaction. "The symposium gives you a presence in the industry," said Marcia Heffernan with exhibitor Conductive Compounds Inc. "It shows people in the industry that we are there for them."
