Fairfax, Virginia -- In a move to further strengthen its outreach in the specialty imaging industry, SGIA is creating a new Post Print Manufacturers Alliance (PPMA).
The alliance integrates the resources and expertise of the Post Print Manufacturers Association, a trade group representing companies that provide finishing service solutions, within SGIA's vast Information Network. http://www.sgia.org/
The alliance will bring together suppliers offering a wide range of post print applications -- for everything from laminating films and media to mounting substrates and the equipment that processes them -- within the SGIA community. The initiative will expand benefits for SGIA members and provide them with more support, education and opportunities in post print finishing.
"SGIA is excited about the newly formed PPMA and our plans to offer members services tailored to print finishing capabilities," said SGIA President/CEO Michael Robertson. "The alliance reiterates the Association's view that finishing is a critical production process."
The Post Print Manufacturers Association became an affiliate of SGIA because of the Association's substantial resources and industry contacts, said Al Boese, who leads the group and will serve as a staff liaison for the new SGIA affiliate.
"The alliance will allow us to advance more effectively the concept and value of print finishing," Boese said, noting "this will result in more access to information and training as well as far greater visibility of PPMA and SGIA in the print finishing world."
