SGIA Announces ASPT Student Award Winners

Fairfax, Virginia - The Academy of Screen Printing Technology (ASPT) presented the highest honors of its Student Screen Printing and Digital Imaging Awards Competition during the 2009 SGIA Expo (New Orleans, October 7-9).
 

Josh Mills of Careerline Tech Center and his instructor Joseph Boersma were honored with the ASPT Student Best in Show award (secondary school division) in the Textile Products category. Jesus E. Campos of Pasadena City College and his instructors Kristin Pilon and Bert Johnson were honored with the ASPT Student Best in Show award (post-secondary school division) in the Decals, Water-Slide/Lacquer/Ceramic category. The winning students and their instructors earned the award after receiving a gold ribbon in the initial judging in the Expo's Golden Image Gallery. Each student received plaques and scholarships toward graphic arts education, and their instructors each received plaques and monetary awards for their respective graphic arts programs. The ASPT Student Screen Printing and Digital Imaging Awards Competition, sponsored by SGIA, annually recognizes excellent work in the specialty imaging field. Entrants represent secondary (high school and vocation) students and post-secondary (technical, college or university) students.
