Instructors

Dawn Hohl, Contract Training Manager, SPTF

For the last 18 years Dawn Hohl has served at Technical Training Manager at Screen Printing Technical Foundation where she was responsible for developing written training programs and resources for screen printing, as well as performing research into the screen printing process.  Much of her 18 year tenure at SPTF was spent as an R&D Engineer working on many of the Foundations research projects.  She was also involved in the teaching, hands-on training, and development for many of the SPTF's workshops including Color Theory, SPC, Four Color Process, and Screen Making.  She is a noted author of over 30 technical articles and papers, including an extensive process model for screen printing and new online Troubleshooting Guide. She was inducted into the Academy of Screen Printing Technology in 2003.  Dawn earned a B.S. in Graphic Communication Technology with a Screen Printing focus at California University of Pennsylvania and has been involved in the industry for 19 years.  Dawn currently teaches and oversees the SPTF workshops as well as being an industry consultant for Uncommon Enterprises LLC.

Mike Ruff, Chief Technology Officer, Nazdar Consulting Services

Mike Ruff, resides in Kansas City, Missouri and is Chief Technology Officer of Reyhan PGF of Minneapolis Minnesota, a company specializing in screen-print separations and consulting services for Graphic Color Control in Screen Printing, digital output, flexo and litho companies. Mike developed the popular Chromatix Color Control Program and spends 100% of his time in training and implementing color control procedures for Graphic production facilities. Mike has actively been involved in the education of screen printers and management of screen-print and digital printing companies concerning the specialized field of 4-color separations and file output for over 35 years. Mike is a member of the Academy of Screen Print Technology and has authored many articles published in Graphic production trade magazines domestically and internationally. Mikeís previous experience includes 14 years as owner of Missouri Poster & Banner and 5 years as General Manager of National Sign Co. Mike is a regular speaker at industry educational events, and has provided consulting work and seminars in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Central America.

Charles Taublieb, Taublieb Consulting

Charlie Taublieb has been in the screen printing industry since 1976 and is the owner of Taublieb Consulting in Englewood, Colorado, a company that specializes in technical consulting-i.e., evaluating a shopís efficiency, designing and laying out floor plans for new and existing facilities, instituting quality control programs and working with companies on improving their technical abilities.

He has been a consultant for 25 years and has worked in shops through out the US, Latin America, Caribbean, Europe and Asia. He owned Great American Screen Designs, Ltd., an automated screen printing facility in Brooklyn, New York and Bullseye Screen Printing Supplies, Inc., a screen-printing supply company in Denver, Colorado. Currently, Charlie is Marketing Director for Fassi Equipment, Miami, Florida and continues to work for Taublieb Consulting Englewood, Colorado. In 2002, he instituted the new seminar programs at Rutland Plastic Technologies, Inc., Pineville, North Carolina and oversees them currently.

Charlie has written numerous articles for many of the industry publications and writes a monthly column for Impressions Magazine, "Printing with Charlie". He started the "Hands on Screen-Printing Workshop" conducted at the Imprinted Sportswear Shows in 1985 where he continues to conduct seminars as well as the SGIA Shows, the Bobbin Shows in the US, Mexico and Brazil, the ImageWorld Show in Mexico City, Image Wear Expo and the DAX shows. He was voted "Top Industry Consultant" the last time the survey was conducted.

Taublieb is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Fine Art. He majored in painting and had a minor in print making and drawing. Charlie is a member of CORE New Art Space where he exhibits his paintings and artwork.

Bron Wolff, Pratt Corporation

Bron has a unique background both in education and screen-printing. After serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, he entered the teaching field. In 1972, he began his career as a production artist and screen printer. After holding management position with several graphic arts screen-printing companies, Bron combined both his areas of experience and became the Technical Education Associate with SGIA International. At the Association, he developed the very popular Graphics Four-Color Process workshop and continues as the principal instructor of that course. Bron is a regular contributor to Screen Printing magazine and was inducted into the Academy of Screen Printing Technology in 2002.

* Note: In addition to the principal instructors, the Screen Printing Technical Foundation uses the services of many industry experts who volunteer their time and talent to augment the Workshop Program with special presentations.
