Code of Conduct

The PRINTING United Alliance is committed to providing its employees, directors and officers, volunteers, members, independent contractors, event participants and event faculty (collectively, “covered persons”) with settings that are free from harassment or offensive behavior, in any form.

Harassment takes many forms, and may be, but is not limited to: words, signs, jokes, pranks, intimidation, physical contact, unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, stalking, other verbal or physical contact of a sexual nature, vulgar or abusive language, or violence as related to race, national origin, religion, age, disability, gender, sexual orientation or any other classification protected by local, state or federal laws. Offensive behavior is words and/or actions which a reasonable person would deem offensive.

PRINTING United Alliance will not tolerate harassment of or by any covered person. Any conduct by a covered person toward another covered person that is intimidating, hostile, offensive and/or unlawful is prohibited. Any covered person engaging in such conduct will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include termination of employment or as a contractor; revocation of membership without refund; immediate expulsion from PRINTING United Alliance-sponsored events and/or ineligibility for future events; removal as a director, officer, volunteer or faculty member; or other actions as may be deemed appropriate.

Any covered person who believes that he/she has been the subject of any form of harassment should immediately report such conduct to the PRINTING United Alliance President & CEO or Executive Vice President. PRINTING United Alliance employees should follow the handbook procedures for reporting harassment. Any covered person submitting a complaint must be acting in good faith and have reasonable grounds for believing the information disclosed indicates a violation of this policy. Any allegation that proves to have been made maliciously or knowingly to be false will be viewed as a serious offense.

PRINTING United Alliance will promptly investigate all reports of harassment and will keep the identity of the covered person(s) making the report and all aspects of the report and investigation confidential to the greatest extent possible, bearing in mind that due process may require disclosure of information to any person in the course for PRINTING United Alliance’s investigation of alleged abuses. PRINTING United Alliance will take appropriate action(s) to remedy substantiated complaints.

It is contrary to the values for anyone to retaliate against any covered person who in good faith reports an alleged violation of this policy. A covered person who retaliates against someone who submits a complaint in good faith is subject to discipline, up to and including termination of employment/engagement, loss of position and/or revocation of membership.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the PRINTING United Alliance executive team. All reports will be confidential to the greatest extent possible.
