Vehicle and fleet graphics can be made on any solvent or eco-solvent printer. I’m leaving out the aqueous ink category, as the inks will fade too fast for this type of environmental application. Presently the latex inks are not showing good longevity outdoors and the UV curable inks have lamination issues due to ink height. To play in this market you will need to finish or laminate the print in order to produce a product that will last for the projects intended duration. This could be anywhere from 1-3 or more years. Depending on the environment and if the vehicle is stored in a garage or not, some vehicle graphics can go up to five years outdoors.
