Joint Health and Safety Committees Employers with more than 20 employees must establish a Joint Health and Safety Committee. In addition, the province requires mandatory safety awareness training. All workers and supervisors will be required to complete a basic occupational health and safety awareness training program. There are no exemptions to this one-time training program requirement. Once the training has been conducted, even if the employee changes employers, there is no need to retake the training.
