Every municipality will have some form of regulation or rules that apply to the installation, use or activities associated with signs. Depending on the area there can also be specific rules on which signs require a permit and which ones don’t. While not every sign will need a permit, generally every sign code will describe what is required with respect to signage within a particular community.
