OSHA Issues Compliance Directive on Combustible Dust

In a continued effort toward combustible dust enforcement, OSHA has issued a guidance memo, dated April 21, 2015, which specifically addresses how a compliance officer is to evaluate the hazardous level of accumulation depth for combustible dusts with bulk densities of less than 75 lb/ft3 present at the facility and determine if the present level of combustible dust is allowed. This guidance focuses on the information available within OSHA’s National Emphasis Program on Combustible Dust and their compliance directive, CPL 03-00-008. An in depth memo is available to SGIA members. For a copy, contact SGIA's Government & Business Information Department at govtaffairs@sgia.org
