Nazdar Makes Huge Sustainability Strides

Since its creation in 1986, Nazdar's Regulatory Compliance Department  (Shawnee Mission, Kansas) has focused on the health and safety of not only its employees, but the environment. They strive to continually improve their processes by making them more efficient and environmentally friendly, and due to even greater progress in the past year, they have been recognized as a 2015 Sustainability Recognition Award winner.  Recycling is a large part of Nazdar's sustainability efforts. In 2014, 81 tons of solvent were recycled, reused and diverted from the hazardous waste streem, and 55 tons of cardboard were recycled and diverted from landfill. In addition to recycling and reusing, Nazdar also implemented improvement projects that led to more efficient processes, elmination of waste, reduction in logistics and energy usage, and more efficient purchasing. Sustainability doesn't just mean going green for Nazdar. They also look beyond the company to contribute to the livelihood of their community. Through their Community Outreach Program, Nazdar has collected donations for families in need, collected food for the DeSoto Food Bank, gathered toys for Toys For Tots and more.  DELTA Program In addition to the health of the environment, Nazdar has focused on the health of its employees with the DELTA (Diet, Exercise, Lifestyle, Turn-Around) Program.
