Packaging it All Up: Exploring Sustainability's Role in the Packaging Industry, Part 1

In 2006, Walmart launched its five-year plan to reduce packaging — changing the landscape forever. The initiative, announced at the end of the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City, set in place plans to measure 60,000 worldwide suppliers on their ability to develop packaging and conserve natural resources. Scheduled to begin in 2008, the goal was to reduce overall packaging by 5%.
