SGIA Successful in Amending VT Industrial Cleaning Solvent Draft Regulation

In conjunction with the American Coatings Association, SGIA requested that the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation reopen its draft standard regulating cleaning solvent usage.  While the comment period was not reopened, the state worked with SGIA to include language in the draft that would help conform the state’s regulation to other recently state adopted standards.   The Department added language that would exempt cleaning activities associated with digital printing as well as language that would exempt cleaning of screen printing equipment, if the cleaning solvent used has an as-applied VOC content that does not exceed 500 grams per liter, equivalent to 4.2 pounds per gallon.  Sign up  to receive the most up-to-date regulatory and legislative information about specialty imaging.
