Where is the 2018 SGIA Expo?

The 2018 SGIA Expo is located at the Las Vegas Convention Center, located at 3150 Paradise Rd, Las Vegas, Nevada 89109.

Can I bring my child?

SGIA recommends children not attend the Expo. Minors under 18 are only allowed on the show floor during official show hours and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Can I take photographs or audio/video at the SGIA Expo?

Photography and audio/video recording by anyone (Exhibitor or Attendee) – other than the SGIA Expo Photographic Contractor – is strictly prohibited on the Expo floor when an exhibitor does not grant permission, anywhere in the Golden Image area or in the educational sessions. An exhibitor may place a no-photography sign in their booth as well as verbally restrict activity. Unless otherwise restricted or posted, photography and audio recording will be permitted on the trade show floor and in the common/pubic areas of the convention center. All exhibitors have full authority to control the photographic activities in their contracted spaces and should any unauthorized photographic activity take place while at the Expo, the exhibitor must contact the floor manager for immediate assistance and action.

Exhibitors and attendees understand that the SGIA Expo and its authorized representatives or those registered for the Expo as members of the trade press may conduct interviews and may take photographs and/or video and may also stream the various aspects and activities of the SGIA Expo for both archival and promotional purposes. By attending the SGIA Expo, exhibitors and attendees hereby grant Show Management and its authorized representatives the right and permission to use your name, likeness, biographical information, voice, content of any interview, image and/or photograph and any other indicia of persona (“Persona”) or to refrain from doing so, in any manner or media whether existing now or hereinafter developed (including without limitation the World Wide Web and the Internet), worldwide, for trade, advertising and/or promotional purposes. Convention and/or exhibitor photos and recordings cannot be copied, altered, sold, exhibited, or further distributed without prior written consent from the SGIA Expo. The SGIA Expo retains the right to revoke consent.

How do I rent a wheelchair or scooter?

To reserve a wheelchair or scooter during the convention, contact Scootaround (888.471.7575).  Scootaround is available 7 days a week from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Registration

How do I get my badge and tickets for the SGIA Expo?

You can pick up your badge at Registration starting Tuesday, October 16.  Registration is located in the Las Vegas Convention Center – Central Building.  

Can I register more than one person at a time?

When registering online you may register more than one attendee as part of the same transaction. An immediate confirmation will be e-mailed to you. All registrants should take their confirmation forms to Express Registration, located in the Registration Area at the Las Vegas Convention Center – Central Building, where you will print out your Expo entrance badges and event tickets.

Can I register for events once I arrive at the Las Vegas Convention Center?

Yes, but on-site prices may be higher.

Is there a charge to attend the exposition? 

Yes, however, there are two prices — online pre-registration and on-site. If you register online before September 20, 2018, registration to walk the show floor is free; starting September 20 or on-site, the registration is $35, unless you receive an invitation directly from an exhibitor. This price covers attendance for all three days. 

How do I make changes to my existing registration?

You can access your registration via your Attendee Dashboard in one of two ways:    

  1. If you received an email confirmation for your registration look for the section titled “Registration Online Access”.  There will be a direct link to your Dashboard and you will be able to make changes from there.
  2. Visit the SGIA Expo Registration page and on the right side of the screen under “Already Registered” enter the email you used when registering and the password you created during the registration process.  You will be directed to your Attendee Dashboard and from there you will be able to make changes to your registration.

How do I cancel or downgrade my registration?

To cancel or downgrade your registration package/tickets please contact SGIA at 703.385.1335 or email cancellations@sgia.org.  

Please note that your refund will be subject to the following guidelines:

Travel/Housing

What is the best way to book a hotel room?

SGIA has partnered with onPeak to negotiate the best hotel rates in properties convenient to the convention center.  Reserve your room early through the onPeak website.

How do I obtain a travel visa?

You may request a Visa Letter while you are registering for the SGIA Expo.  During the registration process indicate that you require a Visa Letter and fill out the information requested.  Once you complete the registration process you will receive a confirmation email with a link to your Attendee Dashboard.  Once you log into your Dashboard you will be able to print your Visa Letter.

If you do not complete your Visa Letter request during registration you can go back into your registration record via your confirmation letter or Attendee Dashboard, select “edit” and indicate you require a Visa Letter.  At that time, fill out the necessary information and you will be able to print a Visa Letter when you receive your updated confirmation email.  

The State Department recommends that you begin your visa application process well in advance of your travel dates.  The decision to grant visas belongs solely to the Embassy/Consulate.  SGIA cannot promise that you or your colleagues will receive a visa.  Likewise, SGIA cannot change the decision of the US State Department should your application be denied.  For more information on applying for a visa, visit the US State Department Website at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas.html 

Transportation/Shuttle

How do I get from the airport to my hotel?

The Convention Center is about 20 minutes from the Las Vegas airport.

Taxicabs: The cost for a taxicab ride from the airport to the Convention Center or hotel in our block ranges between $30.00 and $38.00. To ensure the shortest, most direct route, it is recommended  you ask the taxi driver to use the "Paradise Road route".

Taxicabs are available on the east side of baggage claim for Terminal 1, outside door exits 1-4. Airport personnel are available on the taxi curb to assist passengers. At Terminal 3, taxis are located outside on Level Zero. Some taxis will not accept credit card payments. There is a $2.00 charge on all fares originating at the airport. The maximum number of passengers allowed in any taxi is five (5) including infants and children.

Airport Limousine Service: A variety of shuttle/limousine services are available at McCarran, and are located on the west side of baggage claim for Terminal 1, outside door exits 7-13. For Terminal 3, shuttle/limousine services are located outside on Level Zero on the west side for domestic travelers and on the east side for international travelers. Please note that there are both group shuttle and "for-hire" stretch limousine services. All shuttle companies operate 7 days a week.

Where can I park at the Convention Center?

Parking is available and passes can be purchased at the parking booths located at the Convention Center. The cost is $10.00 per space/per day with in/out privileges.  Oversized vehicles will be charged double if they take 2 spaces.  THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO OVERNIGHT PARKING.
