The commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Labor and Industry/Virginia Occupational Safety & Health has formally adopted Federal OSHA’s electronic injury and illness reporting rule and Virginia employers are now required to comply. The effective date is Feb. 15, 2018. Printing facilities with more than 19 employees (fulltime, part time and temporary) are required to submit their injury and illness data. The deadline for submitting 2017 Form 300A injury and illness data is July 1, 2018.
The link for submitting data is https://www.osha.gov/injuryreporting/index.html. Calendar year 2016 OSHA 300A data cannot be entered in OSHA’s “Injury Tracking Application” (ITA) at this time. The last date to enter 2016 data was originally December 31, 2017. However, federal OSHA is considering a redesign of the ITA that would allow 2016 data entry at some future date. Should such a redesign occur, the Department will update this webpage to indicate any change.
Virginia employers covered by the above regulation who failed to enter 2016 OSHA 300A data by December 31, 2017 will not be subject to enforcement action because the VOSH regulation does not take effect in Virginia until February 15, 2018.
The OSHA Electronic Recordkeeping Update information can be found on the VOSH website at http://www.doli.virginia.gov/vosh_enforcement/electronic_record_submission.html
