Air Pollution Control Regulations

What is required when emitting volatile organic compounds?

Screen printing and digital imaging facilities emitting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) may need to take steps to control their emissions. VOCs can be found in inks and other solvents used by your facility. These regulatory requirements are developed and implemented by state environmental agencies. SGIA has long worked with these state agencies to ensure that regulations developed for our industry sector reflect the technologies available.

Air pollution control programs limit the amount of VOCs in products used. For example, air districts that have developed regulations often set a limit on inks used at 400 grams of VOC per liter. To determine what your facility's status is regarding air pollution control regulations, contact us.
