Speaker Gene Marks will highlight key factors to watch today to brace for tomorrow

Fairfax, Va. — When Gene Marks, owner, The Marks Group PC, presents at the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association’s (SGIA) upcoming FP3: Functional Printing, Process & Products conference (May 5 - 7, Chicago area), he will not only open the event, but will open attendees’ minds to what can ultimately impact their businesses. In his keynote presentation, “The Road to 2020: Taxes, Tariffs and Technology,” Marks will discuss the four most important power trends leaders need to act on today to prepare for tomorrow — Washington and the economy, technology, taxes and people.

Marks’ consulting firm focuses on providing technology and consulting services to small- and medium-sized businesses. In addition to his work there, Marks is a columnist for The New York Times and The Washington Post, and appears regularly on news outlets including MSNBC, Fox News and SiriusXM’s Wharton Business Channel. The most recent of his five books is “The Manufacturer’s Book of Lists.”

Marks will bring his political, economic and technological expertise to FP3 to show attendees how they can continue to be successful no matter what surprises lay ahead. Based on the four power factors, he’ll cover the issues and questions business leaders and decision makers should have in the forefront of their minds. This includes strategies for surviving a trade war, new legislation that will impact human resource activities and controlling healthcare costs affected by tax reform.

“The smartest business leaders I know and work with are always looking ahead … in some cases, years ahead,” said Marks. “The 2020 elections are coming up. But not only that, there are things happening right now in Washington, Silicon Valley and other parts of the world that are going to affect all of our businesses in the future. I'm going to talk about some of those trends and also provide specific actions that forward-thinking leaders are taking to stay ahead so that their companies can grow and profit well beyond 2020.”

The full FP3 agenda and more information are available at fp3conference.com. Early bird registration pricing ends April 5, and the hotel block closes April 12.
