Today’s segment features the latest updates in Graphics/Wide-format for Finishing and Workflow from Agfa, Canon CSA, Epson, Fujifilm, HP, and day-sponsor Roland DGA

Fairfax, Va. — The PRINTING United Digital Experience, taking place online Oct. 26-Nov. 12, wraps up the first of the three-week long event with impressive global participation and viewership. After just the first three days, more than 6,600 attendees from 4,700 companies in 97 countries worldwide have consumed more than 30,000 page views and 3,000 hours of video featuring robust education, new product demonstrations, expansive resources, and more. Today’s showcase is the second day dedicated to Graphics and Wide-format technology in the Finishing and Workflow segments. Registration is free and a single sign-up allows for complete access to the entire schedule of daily events at The Daily Guide detailing the agenda for the day can be accessed here.
Spotlight on Graphics/Wide-format: Finishing and Workflow
The Graphics/Wide-format day offers a powerful line-up of new product demonstrations, education, and video demonstrations of the latest technology being shown to the global community. The day begins with a comprehensive Industry Outlook for Wide-format Finishing and Workflow from PRINTING United Alliance Chief Economist Andy Paparozzi who will address critical issues on effective finishing services, streamlining workflows, creating competitive advantage, capital investment objectives, and post-COVID opportunities. Following, Ryan McAbee and Eric Zimmerman, Keypoint Intelligence, will present the day’s keynote, Building a Manufacturing Mindset.

Valuable educational panels and sessions will be held throughout the day. The Science and Skill of Graphics Installation is being moderated by Ray Weiss, PRINTING United Alliance Director of Digital Print Programs, along with Ken Burns, Axis Graphic Installations; Pete Kouchis, VisuCom Sign & Graphics; and Shane Lloyd, GeckoWraps. NAPCO Media Editorial Director Denise M. Gustavson leads How to Focus on Finishing Can Help You Finish First, a panel discussion with Richard Beto, University of Texas – Austin; and Craig Tinkelman, Quaker Chroma Imaging, about how and why finishing equipment is essential to their businesses and how it is impacting their growth.

New Product Launches and Demonstrations
Attendees worldwide can engage in new technology being broadcast at their fingertips during the event.
The Agfa inkjet portfolio helps print service providers (PSPs) expand and diversify their businesses. Agfa has launched two new inkjet printers — the Oberon RTR3300, a 3.3m high-speed LED-UV roll-to-roll printer, and the Jeti Tauro H3300 S hybrid device.

"Agfa is excited to share the latest innovations in our wide format portfolio and to introduce the PRINTING United Digital Experience audience to the World of Agfa,” says Deborah Hutcheson, director of marketing, Agfa North America. “This first week was filled with valuable business and technical information. The community based segment oriented Digital Experience allow attendees to truly focus on specific topics relevant to their business. It is a must-see for everyone in the graphic communications industry."
During today’s event, take a tour of the Canon Solutions America U.S. Customer Experience Center, located in Itasca Ill., just outside of Chicago. The tour will give viewers a sense of the breadth and depth of Canon’s Large-Format Graphics Solutions offerings, and includes the brand new Arizona 2300 with Flow table technology, the Colorado 64" roll-to-roll graphics printer, the DGI series of dye-sublimation printers for soft signage and apparel applications, and Canon’s new in-line Colorado Wall Covering print and finish factory.
“Canon Solutions America is excited to showcase for the Wide Format Finishing and Workflow Day the Colorado UVgel Wallpaper Factory integrating the award-winning Colorado 64” graphics printer series with finishing solutions from Fotoba,” said Sal Sheikh, VP Marketing, Large Format Solutions, Canon Solutions America. “It is designed for outstanding throughput, high-quality, and efficiency of automated production of customized wallpaper or wall panels. The UVgel Wallpaper Factory will help you to explore new growth in the interior decor market!” It will make your print jobs as simple as “print, cut, rewind, and tape, all automated, allowing for quick delivery of wallpaper rolls.”
During this session, viewers will learn how Epson’s SureColor S-Series signage printers combined with the latest cutters from Graphtec can boost productivity and capacity for print and cut applications.
“If you are a print service provider or a sign shop looking for high-quality prints with amazing productivity, the Epson SureColor S40600 Print and Cut bundle is the answer,” says Dave Lopez, wide format product manager at Epson America. “We are excited to leverage this PRINTING United Digital Experience Insight Day focused on finishing and workflow to demonstrate how the SureColor S-Series solvent printers and latest Graphtec FC9000 cutter work together to deliver high-quality results you and your customers expect.”
Taking advantage of the wide color gamut already offered by Fujifilm’s presses is the OEM’s XMF ColorPath Brand Color Optimizer that fine tunes the ability to print spot colors, and ensures that every spot color is reproduced as accurately as possible. The technology can be used to optimize any color library from Pantone, HKS, and Toyo, to name a few.
"The PRINTING United Digital Experience event has had some great content for the printing industry so far,” says Gregory Pas, marketing director, North America, Fujifilm. “We at Fujifilm continue to feel that spotlighting a specific topic each day is helping attendees focus on the delivered content as well as helping better identify which industry suppliers, including Fujifilm, can provide them solutions in their respective areas of interest."

These powerful apps, running on the cloud-based HP PrintOS platform at no cost to HP large-format printer owners, bring easy setup, unattended printing, and the opportunity for great productivity, efficiency, ease of use for customers, and higher margins and profits. “Measuring your business and taking necessary actions is the key to greater productivity, efficiency, and profitability,” says Tom Wittenberg, HP large format industry relations and events, NA. “HP PrintOS, at no cost to the HP owner, is a powerful tool that comes with each of our large-format products.  Given today’s hyper-competitive world where companies really need an advantage to stand out, a tool such as this will certainly help you out-maneuver your competition.”
