California Poised to Ban Biodegradable Claims for Plastic Products

Awaiting action by Governor Schwarzenegger is legislation that would prohibit the sale of ANY plastic product that is labeled “biodegradable,” “degradable,” or “decompostable.”  The use of these terms or any form of these terms or any wording that in some way imply that the product will break down, fragment or decompose in a landfill or other environment would be prohibited.
